This is our court system today. One example.
A kid 17 goes up for DUI the parents have money. The kid gets a stiff fine and a good talking to.
The fine was to be paid to the Sheriff's office on their K-9 unit. Somewhere around $1,800 dollars in a plea agreement.
The kid walks right out of court talking down to their mom and dad who just wrote a huge check for them to get off basically free other than what mom and dad had to pay.
The next person same offence. Got their license suspended for 1 yr. and fined $800 dollars plus all the other stuff so about the same fine. Yet this person lost their license and possibly their job?
Who got off better. The person who had money or the person who didn't?
Welcome to justice today. As the old saying goes. Money walks as it always has in WC.
And if you want to find out how bad things are in WC with judges, call a few lawyers and see what their first few questions are. If this judge hears the case i can't represent you.
I had a friend who was done this way not long ago. And bad thing about it. Was the police messed up and let his son be taken by his ex-wife, who had some old custody papers. So he is still in court today trying to get his son back. Cause where he tried not being a prick about it and let her have joint custody. Well the officers listened to his ex and she skipped the state with his son. Now tell me that is justice and basically the magistrates wouldn't write a warrant because she was female? Even after Chad Dotson had told my friend to go and file warrants. The magistrates office said there was no proof of wrong doing?
It all depends on how good you can lie and who you are. And if you got money you will walk. And if you have the right pull with the right people, you can just about get away with anything.
Oh and i think Carico is to replace Judge Fulton. Isnt' he from Lee County? Does Wise Co. even have any judges from WC holding a judges seat?
